Frequently asked questions
About the Martese chair.
We answer the most common questions about the Martese chair: adjustments, dimensions, and warranty.
Which base should I choose for the Martese chair? +
It depends on whether the chair needs to move. Ash legs are for fixed positions: lobbies, lounge areas, dining rooms. The aluminum star base gives a more corporate look without casters, for receptions where the chair should stay put. The caster base swivels 360° and adjusts height, and it's the right choice around a conference table or collaborative workspace.
What is bent wood? +
It's wood shaped with heat and pressure into its final form, rather than cut. The Martese shell is 17 mm bent plywood: since the curve has no joints or seams, it withstands repeated flexing better and allows for the enveloping silhouette that defines the chair.
Can the Martese be ordered without armrests? +
Yes, in the aluminum base and caster base versions. Without arms, the chair takes up less width, which allows more seats to fit around a table or in a row of waiting seats.
What are the Martese's dimensions? +
It measures 65 cm wide by 56 cm deep, with a total height of 79 cm and the seat at 45 cm from the floor. These are waiting-armchair dimensions: wider than a task chair, because it's designed for sitting sideways or crossing your legs.
Does the Martese chair comply with the "Ley Silla"? +
Yes. The Mexican labor reform known as the "Ley Silla" (Chair Law) requires employers to provide seating with a backrest for workers, and the Martese meets that requirement. For full-time workstations, an adjustable task chair is still the better option.
