Frequently asked questions
About the Comodo chair.
We answer the most common questions about the Comodo chair: adjustments, dimensions, and warranty.
How is it different from the Neon? +
Both are visitor armchairs, but they suit different settings. The Comodo sits on ash legs and its backrest wraps into the arms as one continuous piece, giving it a warm, Scandinavian feel. The Neon has a metal base and a lower, more corporate silhouette.
What's inside it? +
A steel and plywood frame under the upholstery, with a polyurethane foam cushion in the seat and a 100% fabric backrest. The legs are reinforced ash wood. It's built like a piece of furniture, not office seating, and that's what lets it hold the enveloping shape with no plastic parts in sight.
What are its dimensions? +
It measures 55 cm wide by 58 cm deep, 81 cm tall, with the seat 46 cm from the floor. It's wider and lower than a conventional visitor chair, which is exactly what makes it read as an armchair rather than a chair.
Can it be used facing a desk? +
It can, but that's not its purpose. At 58 cm deep with a low seat, it's far from standard work height. For sitting across from a desk, the San Pietro visitor chair is a better fit, with adjustable lumbar support and the right seat height.
Does it comply with the Ley Silla? +
Yes. The Ley Silla is a Mexican labor-reform law that requires employers to provide workers with seating that has a backrest, and the Comodo meets that requirement. For actual workstations, though, the standard is better met with an adjustable task chair.
