Guest chair Genova, front view

Guest chair

The Genova chair is a practical, lightweight, and durable option within our line of plastic chairs, ideal for service areas, waiting rooms, cafeterias, classrooms, or institutional settings. Its high-strength structure supports continuous use with minimal maintenance, and its functional design makes cleaning and organizing the space easier.

It comes in two versions on the same frame: plastic, with a 100% polypropylene shell, for where durability and quick cleaning come first; and upholstered in black, for where a bit of cushioning is needed. Both sit on a tubular steel base with baked epoxy paint finish and floor glides.

Who it's for

The Genova makes sense if…

You're furnishing classrooms or training rooms Four legs, no arms, lightweight: easy to rearrange and move quickly when the room layout changes.
You need two finish levels Plastic where durability matters most, upholstered where cushioning is needed. Same frame, same black.
Cleaning happens daily The plastic version wipes clean with a damp cloth and doesn't absorb spills. In a cafeteria or dining area, that's what settles it.
Your budget per seat is tight It's the entry option in our guest chair line, without giving up a steel frame with a baked finish.

Frequently asked questions

About the Genova chair.

We answer the most common questions about the Genova chair: adjustments, dimensions, and warranty.

Plastic or upholstered? +

The plastic version works best where there's food, high turnover, or daily cleaning: polypropylene doesn't absorb and wipes clean with a damp cloth. The upholstered version works best where people sit longer or where the space calls for something less stark visually. Frame, dimensions, color, and ergonomics level are identical between the two.

What is baked epoxy paint? +

It's a finish applied as powder and cured with heat, so it bonds to the frame instead of sitting on top of it. It resists impacts and scratching better than conventional liquid paint, which is exactly what's needed in classroom or cafeteria furniture.

Can it be stacked? +

The Genova sits on four legs, not a sled base, so it isn't designed for stacking. If you need a stackable chair, the Forli allows it and also comes in polypropylene.

Is it suitable for long workdays? +

No. Its ergonomics level is 1 of 5 and it has no adjustments: it works for one- or two-hour sessions. For workstations or extended waiting periods, it's better to move up to a higher tier, such as the San Pietro guest chair.

Does it comply with the "Ley Silla"? +

Yes. The Mexican labor reform known as the "Ley Silla" (Chair Law) requires employers to provide seating with a backrest for workers, and the Genova meets that requirement. For full-time workstations, the law is better satisfied with an adjustable task chair.
