Frequently asked questions

About the Tivoli chair.

We answer the most common questions about the Tivoli chair: adjustments, dimensions, and warranty.

Is it a guest chair or a work chair? +

It's classified as a guest chair, but it's the only one in that category that swivels 360° and adjusts in height. That makes it usable at a desk for occasional tasks or at a collaborative table. For full-time use, a task chair with lumbar support and arms is the better fit, since the Tivoli has neither.

What does single-piece injected foam mean? +

It means the seat and backrest are molded together, with no seams or joints in between. The practical advantage is there are no edges where the upholstery would wear or split with use, and the shape holds up better than foam that's cut and assembled from separate pieces.

Why doesn't it have arms? +

Because of space. At 41 cm wide, it's the most compact chair in the catalog, and skipping arms is what lets you pull it all the way in to a table and fit more seats in the same footprint. If you need arms, the San Pietro guest chair has them.

Do the casters work on hard flooring? +

Yes. The 60 mm PU casters are designed for both carpet and hard floors: the larger diameter keeps them from catching in carpet pile, and polyurethane is gentler than nylon on hard surfaces.

Does it comply with the "Ley Silla"? +

Yes. The Mexican reform known as the "Ley Silla" (Chair Law) requires employers to provide seating with backrests for workers, and the Tivoli meets that requirement with its backrest and height adjustment. For full-time workstations, a task chair with lumbar support is the better fit.
