Who it's for

The Marena makes sense if…

Waiting calls for an armchair, not a chair Enveloping backrest and high-density cushioning: built for sitting and waiting, not for working at a desk.
You want warmth, not standard office seating Exposed natural ash and fabric upholstery. In a lobby it reads as a design piece, not office furniture.
You want color to do the work Gray, blue, and orange. Two matching pieces with a side table in between complete an entire corner.
The space doesn't allow for casters Fixed legs: it doesn't shift on its own or mark the floor, which is a plus at reception.

Frequently asked questions

About the Marena chair.

We answer the most common questions about the Marena chair: adjustments, dimensions, and warranty.

How is it different from the Martese? +

Both share bent wood and ash legs, but they solve different needs. The Marena is a waiting armchair: it only comes with fixed legs and has a more enveloping shape, for lobbies and lounge corners. The Martese also offers an aluminum base and a swivel base with casters, which also takes it to the conference table.

What is bent wood? +

It's wood shaped with heat and pressure into its final form, rather than cut. Since the curve has no joints or seams, it withstands repeated flexing better and allows for the continuous silhouette that defines the chair.

Does natural ash show marks with use? +

It's a hard wood with a pale, pronounced grain, commonly used in furniture precisely for its durability. As with any exposed wood, it's best to avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which lightens the tone over the years. It's cleaned with a dry or lightly damp cloth.

What colors is it available in? +

In gray, blue, and orange. All three sit on the same natural ash frame, so they can be combined in the same space without looking mismatched.

Does it work as a task chair? +

That's not its purpose. Ergonomics level 2 of 5: it has no adjustments or adjustable lumbar support, because it's designed for waiting and brief meetings. For full-time workstations, a task chair like the San Pietro is the better choice.
